Job Overview

The City of Los Angeles Department of General Services is filling as-needed Truck Operator positions in its Supply Services Division (vacancies at the DCG Warehouse, 555 Ramirez St, Los Angeles; position listed as Exempt). Duties include driving a truck and operating material-handling equipment — forklifts, hand trucks and pallet jacks — for order delivery. The operator loads and unloads materials, secures them properly for transport, and completes paperwork for identifying, loading and delivering orders. Daily safety inspections of equipment and maintenance of daily maintenance-check records and reports are also required. Applicants need a qualified driver's license with knowledge of loading and unloading vehicles; a Class B driver's license is required. The role demands strength to lift, push and pull 75 lbs (average weight 50 lbs, heaviest 100 lbs). The hourly salary range is $32.61 to $40.51; the position is based at the Civic Center. To apply, candidates submit a current City Application to the Personnel Services Division (Stop 508, 111 E. First Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012). Applications may be emailed as a single scanned PDF to hrliaisonrecordsgroup3@lacity.org with the subject line "As-needed– Truck Operator Application." All applications must be received no later than October 23, 2026; questions go to Lindsey Moore at 213-922-8585. Original posting: https://personnel.lacity.gov/jobs/openings/index.cfm?job_id=10257
