Job Overview
The Meeks Lab at Northwestern University invites applications from a motivated postdoctoral fellow to join its laboratory community.
The team explores the mechanisms underlying bladder cancer development and progression.
Research uses real patient samples, mouse models, and cellular systems to uncover the molecular, epigenetic, and immune pathways involved in the disease.
There is a particular focus on chromatin biology, making use of innovative spatial and single-cell techniques and cutting-edge facilities and biospecimens.
Responsibilities include independently designing, executing, and analyzing experiments, and contributing to the preparation of manuscripts, grants, and presentations.
The fellow will routinely perform computational analysis of RNA-Seq, single-cell data, and CUT&TAG/ChIP-Seq, and must be comfortable with R, data analysis, and visualization.
Mentoring and training junior researchers such as graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research technicians in experimental techniques, data analysis, and scientific writing is also expected.
A PhD in life sciences with a strong track record of research accomplishments, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, and extensive experience in wet-laboratory and cancer research are required.
Candidates must be computationally competent, with bioinformatics skills in R and Python and preference for single-cell and spatial analysis experience, and prior mentoring experience is highly desirable.
Apply by submitting a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a one-to-two-page statement of research interests, and contact information for three professional references to joshua.meeks@northwestern.edu; salary and benefits are competitive.
