"## Part Time Hair Instructor
Location: St James Campus, 193 King Street East
This is an occasional part-time contract position.
The School of Makeup and Esthetics at George Brown Polytechnic is looking for an instructor to teach the following courses:
- Hairstylist Pre-Apprentice (Level 1 Curriculum Standard)
## Skills
- A depth understanding of the Curriculum Standard Level 1 Hairstylist
- Health, safety and sanitation procedures
- Salon and service fundamentals
- Scalp and hair treatments
- Cutting and styling hair
- Chemical treatments such as waving, relaxing and straightening
- Colour services
- Familiar with wigs, hairpieces and extensions
## Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have formal training as well as have a minimum of 5 years' professional experience in their field. They must hold a current Hairstylist license from Ontario. Candidates with teaching and training experience, including online teaching using Learning Management Systems (LMS) are preferred. The teaching position requires a flexible schedule, the successful candidate must be able to teach 9:30-3:30, Monday through Friday. Program runs between September and February, contracts will be for modules during that time range.
