"## Non-Full-Time Faculty – Honours Bachelor of Science (Dental Hygiene)
Location: Waterfront Campus (Online)
George Brown Polytechnic is seeking non-full time/contract faculty to teach in our Honours Bachelor of Science (Dental Hygiene) degree completion program. Specifically, DENT3048 Pedagogical and Instructional Design in Dental Hygiene.
## Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Dean for the School of Dental Health, the part-time professor is responsible for teaching didactic courses in the online Honours Bachelor of Science (Dental Hygiene) degree completion program. The professor creates an effective online learning environment, prepares/delivers/updates course content, develops and evaluates assessments, and maintains academic integrity standards aligned with both George Brown Polytechnic and the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario.
## Responsibilities
- Develops, delivers and/or updates course content for an online delivery. Content must align with the Ontario Honours Degree Level Standards and Canadian Competencies for Baccalaureate Dental Hygiene Programs.
- Evaluates student progress and performance, provides timely and constructive feedback to support student development, and is responsible for the overall assessment of student work within the assigned course.
- Maintains a positive, student-centered learning environment using universal design and varied instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Communicates course objectives, instructional approaches, and evaluation methods clearly to students.
- Provides academic support and academic advising to students.
- Participates in program meetings and inputs/maintains required records, such as mid-term and final grades, quality assurance requirements, program related documentation.
## Qualifications
- A diploma or advanced diploma in dental hygiene.
- A Baccalaureate and Master's degree in related discipline is required.
- Ph.D. preferred.
- Active registration and in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) or Canadian regulatory equivalent.
- Evidence of training in educational theory and methodology.
- Current knowledge and/or experience related to online teaching and learning.
- Previous instructional or teaching experience required.
