Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics and Data Science, Northwestern University
The Department of Statistics and Data Science at Northwestern University invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor position. Primary duties include conducting research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and data science, advising and mentoring students, and providing service to the department, the college, and the university. A Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Preferred research areas include machine learning, modern causal inference, and other emerging topics in data science/AI. Exceptional candidates in any area of statistics and data science will be considered. Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2026, and will continue until the position is filled. Applications should be submitted by no later than November 15, 2026. Appointments are expected to start in September 2027.

Salary:
The expected base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $150,000. This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation.
