Job Overview
The laboratory of Judit Villen in the Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle is seeking candidates for two postdoctoral openings.
Ideal candidates will use proteomic technologies to tackle challenging biological questions at a systems level.
Lab projects span proteomic technology development, applications to fundamental cellular and organismal biology, and applications in disease.
Research areas include analysis of protein phosphorylation to understand signaling network organization and regulation in cancer and metabolic cell types.
They also include quantitative analysis of the proteome in aging and degeneration, phosphorylation and drug rescue studies in a neurological disease model, and new technologies for probing mutation effects on protein function.
Candidates should have recently or nearly completed their PhD and hold at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
A background in peptide or protein chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or bioinformatics is required; mass spectrometry-based proteomics experience is a plus but not required.
Applications go to Judit Villen at jvillen@uw.edu with a curriculum vitae and a brief statement of research interests and career goals.
