Job Overview
The SabLab at the University of Washington is encouraging applications for postdoctoral fellow positions.
Current projects center on the design, development, use, and maintenance of high-resolution adaptive optics-based retinal imaging instruments.
These instruments include the confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscope and optical coherence tomography.
Specific projects are shaped around each candidate's interests and expertise, spanning engineering, scientific inquiry, and clinical application.
Engineering work covers optical design and assembly and hardware/software for image acquisition, processing, analysis, and interpretation.
Scientific inquiry includes retinal circuitry behind spatial and color vision, while clinical application targets retinal disease mechanisms and early diagnosis methods.
Postdoctoral applicants should hold a doctorate in an engineering discipline, physics, neuroscience, or psychology, with interest or background in vision science; programming skills in MATLAB or Python are required.
To apply, send a resume and a cover letter outlining prior research and current and future interests to aolab@uw.edu; informal inquiries are welcome.
