Job Overview
Harvard Medical School's Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for the Brown lab in Boston.
The lab uses structural, biophysical, and biochemical approaches to decipher the biology of cilia, and welcomes recent PhD graduates who can bring a new technology or perspective to the work.
The fellow will develop an independent research project within the lab's research focus, carry out bench research, and contribute to writing grants and manuscripts.
Teaching and mentoring of lab members and contributing to overall lab operations and the collaborative environment are also expected.
Candidates need a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field.
Required materials include a CV, a summary of PhD research, a cover letter describing interest in the lab and ideas for new research directions, and names of three references.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected candidates are invited for in-person interviews involving a research presentation on past work.
It is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with possible extension based on performance, business need, and continued funding; salary follows HMS postdoctoral guidelines.
