Job Overview
Harvard Medical School's Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology seeks a postdoctoral fellow for the del Marmol lab in Boston, Massachusetts.
The lab works to decipher the molecular logic of olfaction, studying odorant receptors in arthropods such as mosquitos.
Projects use cryo-electron microscopy, electrophysiology, computational modeling, and behavioral studies to reveal how odorants are recognized, discriminated, and specified.
The position welcomes recent PhD graduates, especially those who can bring a new technology or perspective to the lab's research.
The fellow will work with Dr. del Marmol to develop an independent research project while carrying out bench research.
Duties also include applying for fellowship funding, writing grants and manuscripts, teaching and mentoring lab members, and supporting lab operations.
Basic qualification is a PhD or MD/PhD in biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, neuroscience, or a related field.
The role is salaried and benefits eligible, represented by Harvard Academic Workers-UAW, with a one-year term and possibility of extension.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through the ARIeS portal with a CV, PhD research summary, cover letter, and three references; contact email is josefina_delmarmol@hms.harvard.edu.
