Job Overview

Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal seeks a Capital Projects and Budget Associate who is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and deeply committed to improving how government serves Manhattan's diverse neighborhoods, communities, and constituents. Working under the supervision of the Director of Capital Projects and Budget, the associate helps manage all aspects of the office's capital grant program, liaising between funded organizations and city agencies to advance applications and funded projects. Duties include monitoring funded project status through site visits and meetings, maintaining tracking spreadsheets and databases, administering the annual grant application process, analyzing city budget documents, and coordinating the charter-mandated budget response. The role also involves creating and implementing workshops for the nonprofit community on capital funding, fostering relationships with city agencies and community-based organizations, and leading special projects as identified by the Budget Director. The ideal candidate brings three years of experience in government, civic, or policy organizations, familiarity with the city budgeting process, and experience with the city's Financial Management System. Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a firm grasp of individual project details. The posting lists a salary of $65,000-$75,000 for this full-time Manhattan-based role, with applications to resumes@manhattanbp.nyc.gov.
