Job Overview
HaysMac's graduate scheme offers a September 2027 start as an Audit Associate in its social purpose team, working with charities and purpose-driven organisations while studying towards the ACA qualification.
As an Audit Associate you would be part of a team delivering high-quality audits, helping organisations build trust in their financial reporting.
Day-to-day duties include testing financial transactions such as invoices, payments, and receipts.
You would review financial data to spot risks or inconsistencies, and prepare audit working papers documenting findings.
The role involves supporting seniors and managers throughout the audit process, attending client meetings, and building relationships with client teams.
Time is split between the office and client sites, with exposure to a wide range of clients and industries.
Training is fully supported: you study for the ACA qualification, receive structured technical and professional skills training, and are assigned a dedicated line manager and buddy from day one.
You learn through hands-on experience and on-the-job coaching, as part of a close-knit graduate cohort offering peer support.
Candidates should be curious, motivated, and eager to learn, with strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive, professional approach.
Academically, you need a 2:2 degree (predicted or obtained) in any discipline and 120 UCAS points from your top three A-levels.
