Job Overview

The University of Washington's Department of Bioengineering invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions, with an anticipated start date of September 2027. The roles seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Appointees will build an internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program advancing fundamental bioengineering while creating new capabilities for studying human disease and developing next-generation medicines - across molecular, cellular, tissue, and organ scales. They will teach and mentor at the undergraduate, master's, and PhD levels, develop courses in their areas of expertise, and collaborate across the University's strengths in protein science, tissue engineering, biomaterials, cell biology, genomics, data science, artificial intelligence, and biomedical imaging. Candidates must hold a PhD in bioengineering or a related discipline; an MD is also acceptable. Salary $8,500-$13,000 per month. Submit materials by November 1, 2026 for priority consideration; the position remains open until filled. Original company posting: https://ap.washington.edu/ahr/position-details/?job_id=192490
